Letter to the Editor Brigade
This job can be done by email from any location.
Articles about marriage, cohabitation, and alternatives to marriage appear
in newspapers and magazines around the country every day. Letters to the
editor are a great way to point out misleading or incorrect information,
tell the truth about unmarried relationships and families, and let other
interested readers know about the Alternatives to Marriage Project. Our
Letter to the Editor Brigade is composed of volunteers around the country
who are willing to write an occasional letter to the editor. Collectively,
Brigade members make a significant impact on the voices that are heard in
the American debate about families. As a Brigade member, we'll forward you
articles we see that we think deserve comment (either praise or criticism),
and you can also find your own articles in the publications you read. We
can also send tips forwriting letters to the editor, and provide feedback
or editing on letters if you like. Your time commitment could be as much or
as little as you like. "My Story" Volunteers
This job can be done from any location. AtMP maintains a database of unmarried people who are willing to talk about their lives with journalists who are working on articles or news pieces about marriage, cohabitation, and related topics. We think these real life stories are an important part of educating the public about unmarried relationships. We need a diversity of people willing to share their experiences: people who are single and in relationships; those who hope to marry someday and those who never will; people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, and geographical locations. If you would be willing to consider talking to the media about your experience (you can always decide on a case-by-case basis), please email us with your city and state (very important), phone number, and basic information about your situation that we can share with an interested reporter. Professional Services
We are also in search of professionals willing to provide occasional pro
bono services, including:
