The presidential primaries are here. This is your chance to change the world.
Please vote.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Why does getting married determine your access to health care, your income taxes, your social security or pension? Because politicians don't think they work for singles, unmarried partners or "non-traditional" families. Why do they ignore and disrespect us? Because we let them off the hook when we don't vote!
This year, we're all voting!
Too many unmarried people sat out the last election. If we had all voted, our leaders might have ended the war, reformed health care and strengthened the economy by now. Elections are decided by small margins: it only takes one person - YOU - to change the course of history.
We know you're busy. Maybe you think you don't have enough information. Maybe you're doing your own 'silent protest'. Look, this year there's too much at stake to sit back and let somebody else decide what's best for you and your future. Think about what's important to you, your friends, your family. Then VOTE.
The Alternatives to Marriage Project is committed to increasing voter turnout among all unmarried people and our married friends. If we have a working phone number for you, a volunteer will give you a reminder call before your state's primary.
